Studies
The Department contributes to the undergraduate programme of the School of Civil Engineering and participates in three interdepartmental postgraduate programmes.
Undergraduate studies
The Geotechnical Engineering specialisation was approved by the Senate of NTUA in June 2004 and started in the 7th and 8th semesters of the 2004–2005 academic year. The Department offers fourteen undergraduate courses — thirteen in the School of Civil Engineering and one in the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering.

- Selected Topics in Foundation Engineering (9th semester)
- Soil–Structure Interaction (9th semester)
- Soil Dynamics (9th semester)
- Environmental Geotechnics (9th semester)
Postgraduate studies
The Department teaches within three interdepartmental postgraduate programmes:
- Design and Construction of Underground Works
- Structural Design and Analysis of Structures
- Water Resources Science and Technology
Doctoral theses and postgraduate dissertations are also carried out within the Department’s research areas.
